Registration:

• Q: I already have an Edmonton Public Library card. Can I still register?
  • A: Yes, you can still register. The barcode on your King's ID card will be used for your EPL account. This means that while you are a student at King's, you will use your King's ID card instead of your existing EPL card.
• Q: I already have a TAL (The Alberta Library) card. Can I still register?
  • A: Yes. You can still use your TAL card at all participating Alberta libraries. However, a TAL card does not provide you with access to EPL, while the L-Pass does.
• Q: Do I have to register again next year?
  • A: Yes. Your L-Pass expires after one year. However, you can register again starting from 40 days before the expiration date as well as any time after it expires.
• Q: Do I have to pay to register for the L-Pass?
  • A: You do not have to pay. Registration is completely free.
• Q: Will I still be able to use the L-Pass to access EPL during the Spring/Summer terms?
  • A: Yes.
• Q: I tried to register for the L-Pass but I was unsuccessful. What do I do now?
  • A: Come visit us or email us at library@kingsu.ca! We are happy help you figure out what the problem is.

• General:
• Q: Can I return my EPL books at King's?
  • A: No. You also cannot return King's books at EPL. Please make sure to return your books to the correct library.
• Q: What if I lose or replace the student ID card I used to register for the L-Pass?
  • A: Please make sure to report your card missing to EPL as soon as possible. EPL staff will help you transfer your existing registration to your new card.
• Q: What EPL services can I access with the L-Pass?
  • Any service that an EPL cardholder can access, you can also access! This includes online resources, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and of course, books!
• Q: If I have the L-Pass do I have to pay for overdue EPL materials?
  • A: Yes.
