Advanced Searching Techniques: Research Logs

Research Logs

Keeping track of what progress you have made in your research is an important part of the research process.

To help prevent you from conducting duplicate research or overlooking valuable resources, its a good idea to know the answers to questions such as:

  • What databases have you tried?
  • What search terms and limiters have you used?
  • Did you discover new keywords that you would like to try in future searches?
  • What search techniques have been successful and unsuccessful?

The Database Research Log is a simple tool to keep you on track during your database research. Download and save a copy of this log to record what search terms and techniques you have used or plan to use.
